Directed by Paolo Licata and written by Licata, Maurizio Quagliana, Heidrun Schleef, and Antonio Guadalupi, L’Amore che ho tells the story of Sicilian singer-songwriter Rosa Balistreri. Based on the novel by Luca Torregrossa, Balistreri’s grandson, the film chronicles her life journey, from her rise to success to the struggles she faced along the way.
The film stars Lucia Sardo, Donatella Finocchiaro, Anita Pomario, and Martina Ziami, portraying Rosa in various stages of her life. Tania Bambaci plays Angela, Rosa’s daughter, and Vincenzo Ferrera portrays Emanuele, Rosa’s father. Carmen Consoli, a longtime fan of Balistreri, not only appears as Alice but also composed the original score for the film, with Mario Incudine contributing musically as well.
The film also benefited from collaboration with ventitreesimastrada for production.
It will be presented in the Zibaldone section of the 42nd Torino Film Festival.
